thinking about a speed increaser on VQC20/50B

Hi All

as the title suggests.. I'm considering a speed increaser on the Old girl. She is currently 3150RPM so doing any small contour work(ie 6mm and smaller ball mill) in aluminium takes its time... plenty of it.

My tool guy suggested that I could install a speed increaser which would speed up machine time and possible increase in surface finish.

I assume it would pretty much be mounted with only 1 tool (I was considering an ER40 unit).

Was wondering if anyone has any thoughts/ experiences suggestions etc?
Can it be used with the ATC or does it need to be used separately?
any recommended brands? anticipated pricing for good second hand units?

All comments (for and against) much appreciated. I have no idea if these are worth using or not? :confused:
