Mazak VQC 20/50 Head Lube Pump issues .......

Hello,

I had Mazak come out and get my VQC 20/50 running. It took about 3 days to get everything going, but it is now running. I do have one issue though, I'm having trouble with the head lube pump. The service guy told me that the pump was bad. It sounded like it was vibrating badly.........so I bought another pump and installed it. I still get the same sound..... no change, but it appears to be pumping. Anyway, if I understand the way this works, the pump on the head pumps the oil to the oil chiller tank, then a pump at the tank sends it through the chiller and back to the head. What my problem is, the two pumps aren't able to keep up with each other. There is a hand valve by the tank, and if I somewhat close the valve, it sends more oil to the head, eventually filling the oil site gage on the head......... and I think the head eventually overfills, because it starts to leak out of the spindle....... so if I loosen the valve, the oil eventually disappears out of the sight gage on the head and if I go too far, it starts to come out the tank overflow. I have been trying to find a happy medium to try and get the oil to remain on the site gage about half way (which the Mazak service guy was trying to do as well when he was here)........but I have been unable to find that spot. Does any of this sound normal to you ???

The service guy said that I will have to find the correct spot for that valve to be set at in order for the 2 pumps to keep up with eachother, but he assumed that getting a new pump would allieviate that, and it has not done so.
