Higbee thread?

Hey guys, this is my first topic using tapatalk app! Anywho, today I had a problem programming a higbee. I've programmed successful higbees before but I tried to use a different method today and I split the thread.

I'm currently running a mazak sl50, Usually I never have have a problem programming a higbee but since the machine I run has a slow rapid. I decided to slow down my surface and I messed up my timing. I know it can be done but I don't know the sure fire way to program it.

I'll explain how I program my higbee to clarify my methodology. I set zero on my threading tool on the face of the insert (not the tip of the insert) as I do my higbee tool. When I come to program the higbee I keep everything the same except my starting and ending points. I start about -.06 (depending on thread type, acme or un) on starting point and go in just thread. It's a sure fire way for me every time. I never even mess with my Z offset this way, just my X to get a good blend on the root of the thread.

My question is, is there a formula to slow your surface footage to pick up this exact lead? I would like to keep my method but have the ability to alter my rpm.

Thanks guys!
