Auto start condition

1990 QT15, T32-2

A lot of times after clamping the chuck, I've got to almost count to 5 before I can hit cycle start or I get a 140 Auto Start Condition or maybe a 250 Spindle Start Misoperation.

Is this normal or just mine? Can I do anything about it?
