Need to quote some 304 ss lathe job, tap or single point 3/8 bsp?

Hi,

I need to make 400 end caps with a 3/8 bsp thread in 304 ss.

should I single point cut the threads or use a tap?

If I use a tap it will be 2 ops.

Also any recommendations on brand of tap and/or threading bar to use in 304?
