I have a Mazak VCN 700D-II with the Mazatrol Matrix Nexus control, and we have over 1000 programs in both the standard and backup program directories. would there be a way to create other program directories that the Mazatrol software would recognize? I'm wanting to have separate directories of the different part types we run. Thanks in advance for any help yall can provide!

After a hard drive replacement the names for the coolant and machine menu keys are missing, the keys still work just the names on the display are missing. I have access to the old hard drive files on a backup. I am looking for the file that would have that info.

MAZAK Integrex - tool trace point recalculation problem
Hello everyone.
I am working with MAZAK Integrex machnines and sometimes i need to machine some parts with a turning tool, using different B-angle.
We are using eia program format for our machines.
Problem that i got is when operator using measured tool in Mazatrol(tool measured in B-axis = 0°) he gets exactly those coordinates that he had progrmmed no matter what B-angle is set while machining, but when we use our eia program we get tool dislocation in X and Z coordinates in amount of tool radius ( for example: RIGHT STANDART turning tool (VCMT160402) and B-axis set to 101 degrees, we got +0.16 ).
We get all the parameters, like the manual says, to use mazatrol TOOLDATA with eia programs, but machine still didnt recalculate tool point properly.
We using T00.0M06 Tool call format in our programs.
I know i can teach tool in a different angle than 0°, but it works only for that time when we machine parts in same angle that tool was measured.
What can be wrong?
What am i missing?

T-32 emergency stop. Can't find the cause.
Hi. I'm stumped. Machine is an old quickturn 28N. I've owned it for about 15 years. It's like my best friend. We've had our ups and downs. All the drives have been changed over the years. Power supplies etc. It's always thrown alarms and been easy to diagnose (with a lot of help from this site).
What's happened this time
- it sat powered on for a day, nothing was wrong. It was powered down, sat for the morning and was powered on to start work, it had an emergency stop 128 alarm on the screen. All drives show E7 and we haven't been able to get rid of it. The emergency button is good and was changed out just in case. There's 24volts down to the control panel and to the drives. We spent a few hours on the phone with the mitsubishi techs and after going through the M300 servo disable system the techs are mostly positive it not the drives or the control. They feel its a problem down stream. My only problem is I'm pretty sure if it was, there would be an alarm however if it was a drive there should also be an alarm.
I've read and searched hoping to find an issue but everyone else seems to have the normal second code or drive error on the drive.
What Ive tried so far - pulled the lubrication unit, clean its filter checked its power and the sending unit
-disconnected all the encoders and servo motors, then re connected
- checked the home position sensors.
Is there anything else I can check? It doesn't have a bar feeder, parts catcher, conveyer etc..

284 Unclamp error Mazak VTC16C with M32B
Hi all,
I have a Mazak VTC16C with M32B control.
I am trying to manually unclamp the tool but I get an error '284 Unclamp imp.(spindle ori.unfi)' when I turn the key to unclamp
I have orientated the spindle and the S.Lock light is lit up but I still get the error.
What am I doing wrong?
Thanks in advance

Need help programming, is it possible, conversational, vcn530c
Hey guys,
I'm decent with conversational on lathes. I've programmed by hand my entire career both g code and conversational. We recently acquired a mill, vcn530c, and I'm learning the programming quickly. But the part I'm making has a feature that I'm not sure I can program using conversational. At least I've tried and cant seem to figure it out yet.
I need to make a .75 dia. pocket, .058 deep, with a 1.25 radius in Z, and I want to do it with a ball em.
Ideas?

Mazak 655-80 z offset help
Hello i have a mazak 655-80. Im having trouble running multi tool programs. I touch all my tools to my z setter then my boss to the part. When running the program the machine reads the first height offset but then never changes when i change tools. My program is right because it works on all other 655-60 we have. Any idea as to a parameter or the issue that is occurring?

Does MazView Work On The New SmoothG Control
We just replaced our oldest SQT T+ for the new 200MY SmoothG.
Very nice machine.
I use MazView on T+ and works great after making my own wire but I have no clue if it's even compatible with the new SmoothG control and has no RS232 outlet.
I sent 2 emails asking MazView if it works on SmoothG with no response.
If it does work on SmoothG I would be most great full to know the details or settings in the SmoothG control to talk to MazView.
Thanks

How to make SS chuck to unclamp
So I wrote up a program and its all working except for one part.
The program does some turning on the main spindle then the sub comes in syncs and grabs the bar and pulls it out then it gets parted and the sub goes home. Then the back of the part gets faced.
Lastly I want to open the parts catcher and open the sub spindle chuck to release the part. (I have a spring loaded ejector so it should pop out)
I have not been able to get this to work.
I have a
m48 m305 m9
M306
M358 (air blast to insure part is out)
M49
End of program
What happens is the parts catcher will come up and the spindle will stop and then nothing happens no unchuck and the parts catcher get stuck up. Also no errors appear.
The only thing I can think of that would cause it to hold up is the fact that the turret is not at z home the last process only sends it to x home (mnp). But I have no clue how to send it to z home as well???? I have no clue if thats my problem or not.
Id appreciate some help guys thanks.
Also anybody know a Kyocera or sumitomo rep near Atlanta? I blew up my grooving tool and I cant find anyone with one in stock locally.

2008 Mazak QTN 200-ll missing entire tool eye arm...one from another model fit ?
Some used tool eye assemblies on eBay from scrapped machines....wondering if any of them might be "close enough" length and position wise to work. (add in the iffiness of the wiring and plugs being identical) Alternatively, know of any Mazak graveyard dealers....or last resort, how much for the entire deal from Mazak ?? :ill:

Mazak Nexus 200-II M problem
Hello and good day.
I have a problem with one of our Mazak Nexus 200-II M. I have the following problem: When i boot the machine on the NC side i have the error OC
. After i reboot the machine 4-5 times the error disappear. I contacted the Mazak team from my country and they say that is the NC. How can be the NC if it starts. On the machine side i don't have any errors. I flashed the NC and reinstalled from an old backup, I reinstalled the Mazatrol Matrix software, I changed the HDD (it made a strange sound).
Please, if you have any advice.
Thanks.

Can anyone here look and see how their tool eye is wired to the electrical box ?
Bought a used tool eye where they cut the wire cables.... that aspect is no particular problem as I can pretty well guess what wire does what (plus one air line)...but very curious where the wires end up in the rear electrical cabinet.
(backstory is this 2008 Mazak QTN200-ll was ordered new without a tooleye. But the soft keys, parameters, I/O, ladder for same seem to be in place)

mazak v515/40 electrical issues???
Hello everyone thanks for letting me join this is my first time joining any forum at all but i have been reading posts on this forum for quite some time and have helped me quite a bit over the years so thanks for that. quick bit about me im 34 as a kid i had a love of steam engines and decided to build one from scratch and that got me hooked on machining at a very early age as soon as i had enough money i set up my small business and have now been machining for the last 15 years. Earlier this year in march i decided to buy my first cnc mill to help me out. Right enough waffling from me now on to the mill and the problem i need your advice/ help with. From the start The mill is a 1995 mazak V515/40 with m plus control and 30 station tool changer always been fully serviced and well looked after it was still in production of the morning we picked it up it got transported the same day and was put into place, over the next few days it was levelled guards and tin work all put back on electrician come in and power connected. first day of operation had no tool change but everything else seemed to work checked hydraulics and very little pressure was at 200psi when it should be 1000psi thought may have blocked filter so decided to change oil and filter still only 200psi looked through mazak books no help lol. googled problem and it come up on this forum for another machine but found out my electrician had put the wires the wrong way round into the mill and the pump was running backwards phone call and 2 days later problem sorted L1 L2 L3 in the correct order. at this point covid had hit hard and lock down in full swing not had much chance to spend at work shop so only been going in once a week to fire my machines up and have a go at program the mill for a couple of hours. programming has been going good made some basic parts all was good until. 3 weeks ago came in powered mill up walk round and check all good until i get back to the control it wont home out no green led showing ready. turn control off and back on all is good homes out i use it for a couple of hours. next day same thing turn on mill walk round do checks go back to control wont home out no green led on ready switch off and on a few times all is good again use for a couple of hours. next day same again power up this time i stayed at the control same again wont home out no green led on ready this time it took a while to get it to home out switched the control on and off a couple of times still nothing so switched main power off and left for a few mins and power back up all is good but getting frustrated now lol. few days later power on no led wont home out power off then on again homes out lovely start running a program and nearly to the end and e stop 1 comes on look at control no error codes ect look round mill nothing spindle drives all on E7 emergency stop nothing looks wrong rest control and start machining again all good for about an hour then same thing happens so called it a day and shut mill down went home. next day power up wont home out no green led power off and on still nothing no error codes on nc look at spindle drives all displaying C1 C2 C3 C4 (ready on servo off) so power off and on a few times then main power off for a bit then power back up and all homes out and off we go for about 15 mins then E stop 1 2 and 3 come on check for error codes on nc nothing spindle drives showing F1 F2 F4 then flashes E7 on all so power down and restart all is good for 5 mins then same thing happens so power down until next day. next day power up homes out straight away lovely start writing a new program (machine on but idle) E stop 1 2 and 3 come on no error codes spindle drives show E7 hit reset fire up straight away carry on programming same thing happens again so phone cnc electronics engineer to come and give me a look. he tests the e stop circuit and a few other things cant find anything wrong he keeps pressing reset and all of a sudden it all works bit late now to start programming so power down. next day power up wont home out power off and on then main power off and back on a few times then eventually get it to home out then after 2 mins the nc powers off power back on look on alarm history E stop 1 2 and 3 375 parameter error then does the same thing again nc turns its self off check alarm history E stop 1 2 and 3 all servos say C1 C2 C3 C4. electrician comes out next day same thing power up wont home out nc switches its self off after 2 mins now so he tests power to nc and boards all checks out fine but still it powers off after 2 mins so he pulls the off signal wire from the qx084 board and it dont switch its self off but still get servo drives saying C1 C2 C3 C4 and no emergency stops at all. so this is where im at today sorry for the long post but need to tell everything as it may help with identifying my problem one thing i have forgotten is that when you push the buttons to home out axis it comes up with error 317 cant plus motion but it homes out regardless. if you have got this far reading thank you very much any help would be appreciated in helping me diagnose this problem

Mazak Nexus 510c - Y axis noise
Hi guys, new to the site and also new to Mazak!!
Wondering if anyone could offer any suggestions for a problem we have with a Nexus 510c (Heidenhain iTNC530)?
The Y axis will make a whining/groaning noise towards the back of the stroke, but only after a long move or continuous back and forth movement in that area. Only seems to do it above 90% feedrate and also when the X axis is all the way over to the right.
If the X axis is centered or over to the left, the noise in Y is either very quiet or not there at all.
When the Y axis is making the noise I can feel it in the front bearing housing (if I hold a screwdriver on it). I have turned the ballscrew by hand (with a spanner)with motor still attached, it doesn't feel notchy nor over tight, although I do have to use a spanner to turn it.
It has been suggested it could be the Y axis thrust bearings, but would this tally up with the noise being present/worse when the X axis is over to one side?
Apologies, I am electrically biased and from a background of bespoke CNC grinders, automation and lathes - I have zero experience with Mazak, and limited experience with CNC mills!
I spoke to Mazak service about the problem but they didn't have any suggestions other than sending an engineer out.
The machine is not alarming out and the finish/accuracy has not been a problem for the job it was on when making the noise, but the noise is stilla concern!
Any advice much appreciated!

M Plus hidden/privilege parameter
Does anyone have a list of descriptions of the hidden/privilege paramaters for a M plus control?
I can get to the hidden parameters but my documentation for the machine does not list them therefore I don't know what they are and can't figure out what to change. In case it matters machine is a VTC-20B.
Thanks
