Hello,
2003 Mazak SQT100MSY, fusion control, started getting "360 spindle cooling malfunction" once a day for about a week, just hit reset, no problem, wait for something to break? Now its broke, started by replacing the spindle cooling fan, made no difference. Took the drives out and cleaned the fans, all work fine, got a new spark arrestor no difference. The sub spindle is working fine, fan and all, everything is on the main spindle, now the second the main spindle comes on I get the same 360 error and then it jumps to spindle miss-operation, which it always did, spindle one fan does not come on now at all, it did when I first replaced it. Mazak says the spindle fan and the fans on the back of the spindle drive are on one circuit, 360 error, nothing in the book. I did notice on about half way through the day the cooling fan in the electrical cabinet is no longer working and when I power down spindle 1 cooling fan does not come on.
Cleaned all of the fans today, x lead screw cooler, hydraulic cooler, all are working fine. in the middle of the day I traded spindle 1 drive fans with spindle 2 drive fans(axial fans behind drives), seems like it made things worse, all of the problems are related to spindle 1, I am wondering if something is messed up in spindle 1 drive, the fans were pretty dirty and sticky, they all seem to be running at the same rpm, no unusual sounds. The machine is dead cold, all of the drives, drives, x lead, hydraulic, spindle 2 cooling at startup, electrical cabinet and spindle 1 are dead.
I guess tomorrow I will start with relay KA48 on the relay panel and more work with the multi-meter and perhaps get a call into Mazak for a service call. The electrical cabinet fan, no much to that, hopefully that will lead to a common problem. The fans were all pretty dirty, perhaps caused burned up something in spindle 1 drive, let me know if you have any ideas. The funny thing was that spindle 1 cooling fan($500 squirrel cage) was pretty clean, if you need one I have a good deal on one.
Thanks.
