Mazak Quick Turn 200 sample g-code & Fusion360: help needed
Hi all,
My company has a new (2016) Quick Turn 200 mill/turn lathe. Up to now we have been doing relatively simple turned parts using the machines interface/Mazatrol. We would like to start using more of the milling functionality but programming through Mazatrol is tedious by comparison, and our company cant justify the expense of the SolidCAM mill/turn bolt-on for the parts we expect to do. So long story short we are looking at Fusion360, but need a post processor for this machine to fully utilise its mill/turn functionality. Can anyone help with a post processor?
Failing that could anyone supply some sample mill/turn g-code off this machine that I could send through to a post processor developer?
Any advice appreciated, thanks!

I wish to extend my part catcher when the subspindle is away from the home position. I am thinking there is a parameter change that will allow that, but cant find it.

Spindle acceleration and deceleration issues on VQC 250/50B
Hi all,
its time for consultation with all ye wise folk what may have encountered my problem and can guide me in my quest for inner peace (and stop me going out of my mind ) ..
The other day I was milling on the VQC 20/50B and had a minor crash when a job pulled out of the 3 jaw chuck I had mounted to the table. It broke the 12mm cutter but nothing overly horrendous...
Anyway, after resuming, the spindle ramp up time seemed to take a significant while compared to usual...up around the 10 second mark... and ramp down from 3000rpm is taking longer than 12 seconds and I receive an error 251 (spindle controller malf. which is linked to >500rpm difference to setpoint for longer than 12 seconds).
I can ramp up and down with the arrow buttons and it tends to keep up ok, but when I do a spindle start or spindle stop from the upper rpm range, I have issues like the motor isn't slowing down fast enough.(I can regenerate the issue every time)
The orient is also hunting when chasing the final positioning (never happened before but feel this is linked to the motor control circuit.)
At first I thought I may have sheared the key between the motor and the gearbox... Inspected that and it is in pristine condition, as is the gearbox itself..
The literature suggests the motor feedback encoder (PLG) could be the issue so I have tested this also with an oscilloscope (and inspected and gapped the sensor), and while there was a little bit of noise when observed at the motor, the signal at the controller was nice and clear. The amplitude was in the order of 4V (recommended to be 3V, but not sure that this is causing any issues as it is still seeing the pulses in manual.)
It appears that the motor accel and braking isn't getting the right amount of indication/ power to slow down/ accelerate appropriately...
I also checked a number of other things the manuals suggested but haven't found anything out of the ordinary as yet and am at a bit of a loss. (I monitored the drive voltage on ramp up and ramp down and it is above the minimum 180V - was above 200v, also checked the sine waves on the feedback PLG and signal from the spindle encoder at various rpms and no obvious issues there, checked the motor resistance, along with any phase grounding issues and all was fine also..)
There are no errors coming up (other than the 12 second lag issue) but its starting to sound like a card issue in the drive controller (FR-SE).
Has anyone had any similar experiences that could point me in a direction to prove the actual problem before I blow a hole in the budget chasing replacement cards?
Any thoughts/ comments/ suggestions/ WAGs (Wild Arse Guesses) are much appreciated at this point.
Cheers
Mick

Mazak T32-2 estop reset after door open ?
Can anyone tell me how to reset an estop alarm.... if I open the door too soon before end of cycle I get the alarm... only way to remove it is to restart machine and re-home...there must be a more convenient alternative... I did read on one of the forums about pushing a over travel button and reset or cancel together... but I don't have an over travel button...at least I don't think. machine is qt8n.

QT20 1997 Parameter and Programming Manual
Afternoon all. I've just acquired a 1997 QT20 with a T Plus control but no manuals arrived with the machine and I was wondering would anyone send me a scan of the programming manual. We're looking to identify two user parameters.. specifically the width and depth of a shoulder undercut. They are U9 and U10 on the QT15 I have. I have got a pdf of a T32 control. Is that close enough to the T Plus?
Any info would be very much appreciated.

Mazak W200y Multiplex Smooth G
We recently bought a Mazak Multiplex W200Y but I am having trouble where if I put a wear offset in the Y-Axis for a turning tool, after it has completed the general out process the main spindle stops and the machine sits doing nothing with the cycle start light lit and does not alarm out. If there is no wear offset the machine runs fine. I think the machine needs the Y-axis to be home before the tool change but it is not returning to the home position.
I have spent several hours looking through the machine manuals with no success.

turret allignment - ST30 ATC/MC
hey guys,
got a few things i need to sus out on my ST30 - first thing being turret allignment - i've done this job (was a rush so finish wasn't a big concern, just needed a hex and my mills were occupied) and clearly there's either a "y" allignment issue or something similar. i've pulled apart the holder and found that the back is attached with 6 cap screws and 1 key, which i could adjust a bit if i were to file down the key, but that clearly isn't the "right" way to do it. does anyone know if there's another way to achieve the same result?

machine description parameters? ST30 ATC/MC
hey guys,
Another thing with my ST30 - there's something wrong with how i have the turret and tailstock described in the parameters with the parameters that were in the elec cabinet.
anyone able to help out with this? not too fussed with how it looks in trace/sim etc. (though it would be good if it were a correct representation) but i can only run it on barrier cancel because it thinks i'm in the tail barrier all the time.

Integrex i400 HDD went bad, is there a way to retrieve the machine/User Parameters?
We had several corrupt files/unreadable files and had to replace the Hard Drive on our Integrex i400 with Matrix 2 control.
We have the original Machine and User Parameters, but we have made several changes to them over the years. I can access the original HDD with a cable reader and was wondering if it would be possible to get the latest user and machine settings/parameters off of the old HDD.
If so, does anyone know where they would be located. I have searched the HDD and cannot find them.
Thanks

Turning 1018 Steel
First off I'm still really new to the lathe. I have a SQT-10M lathe with T-Plus control and all I've turned is Aluminum and Plastics. I have a small job I need to do with 1018 steel. I've read little about feeds and speeds but my main question is about DOC. Everyone says not to baby the cut but what about when boring and you're trying to hit a few tenths. Do you just scrap parts until you get to the number or can you take a few tenths off like with aluminum to get the number you need? And is it better to use coolant or not? Also a little input on some conservative feeds and speeds would be appreciated. I only have a few of these to do.
Thanks!

QT15 / Mazatrol T2: Backwards threading tool holder ... now cutting left hand threads
Hi Guys,
So I crashed my faithful BT25 mounted threading tool. Destroyed it badly. My lathe is a weird bugger with a 16 position turret that doesn't take stick tooling. But I made one tooling block that takes 3/4" stick tooling. That block is orientated so the spindle is running in reverse and the insert is facing up. So long story short, I bought a new SECO threading tool ... and I can only seem to cut left hand threads. I've tried setting the "R/L" in *** TOOL DATA *** to both RGT and LFT and it doesn't seem to make a difference.
Does Mazatrol T2 only do left hand threads when the spindle is running in reverse? IE do I need to make another tool block that holds the tool upside down (matching the rest of the tools in the lathe) so I can do right hand threads?
It took me an embarrassingly long time to figure out why I couldn't get the ring gauge to start on the threads... :willy_nilly:

Mazak QT200 Mazatrol Smooth G - Mill eccentric feature help
Hi all,
I've been trying to side mill a cylindrical feature in a part that sits eccentrically to the axis of the main body of the part. It looks similar to the eccentric part of a crankshaft, but not as pronounced. How can I do this? I've tried face machining a pocket in ZC, and can get this to wrap around 360 degrees, however its concentric to the spindle axis. I need to offset it somehow...or try a completely different approach?
Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

X axis servo gain? issue?
Hey guys,
Another little issue with my big girl (ST30 ATC M/C - T3 controller). There seems to be some sort of gain issue with the x axis servo... i'm guessing :P
here's how the issue presents - this is a finished taper cut, note the lines on it:

When i pulled the X axis encoder/belt cover off, i noticed it was shuddering, I assume trying to land itself in the correct position, you can also feel the shuddering when jogging the x axis.
https://photos.google.com/photo/AF1Q...rgp_AOSVouY9nj
I'm sure it could also be a mechanical issue, but seems to me like it's trying to drive too far or not far enough and constantly trying to correct if that makes sense? I may be miles off because i don't really know f all about servos :nutter:

Mazak AJV Tool change
Mazatrol M-32 control, I'm having issue with a tool change operation. Everything is fine when I got from Magazine to spindle but from spindle to magazine I'm getting dropping. Looks like the position my spindle stops at to wait for the arm is off by a few thousands. I need to change the Y-axis tool change position parameter. Any help on how to go about that would be appreciated. I have books on parameters and have done them On Haas, VCN and Mori Seiki Lathes but have yet to do anything On AJV so just looking for any tip, tricks or things to avoid and how to get started. Thank you.
EDIT
I found it to be the Home 2 tool change Parameter M5.
Think I comfortably got it. I'm doing my movements by .01 each and adjustment and checking after.
So I'm having trouble with My machine dropping the probe and only probes. I've even tried another probe from another AJV that I have and it wouldn't seat the probe fully. can't seem to figure it out. only drops probes and did it to 2 different probes. Doesn't make sense. Any thoughts?

Im threading and the threads are too big, so we exit the program, comp our tool. Its annoying to run through the whole program again. Im trying to start mid program, but when I go to EIA monitor, find the line I want and hit the Restart2Nonmodal button, I get 428 Memory Protect (Auto Operation) error message, and it wont let me hit cycle start to start the program. Could I be missing something? Or how can I fix that?

Loose tailstock on older QT10, need help
Hi Guys,
The tailstock on my old QT10 is very loose when unclamped. You can probably see the top of the tailstock move 1/4 of an inch or more while its unclamped and moving. Its bad enough that its creating a gap between the ways and possibly lettings chips in between, so I need to get this fixed.
I took the cover off today and it looks like I have an air/hydraulic booster and a hydraulic cylinder to clamp. See attached pics. Looks like theres a nut that I can tighten to adjust all this, its split on one side and has a cap screw to lock it. Im guessing this has worked loose.
So hoping you guys can confirm im on the right track with this and how much to adjust it. Would there happen to be a procedure of maybe tightening all the way and back off X number of degrees or turns or do I just tighten it up till it seems right?
How do get the machine in an unclamped state to adjust it? I cut the air to machine but I guess solenoid must be still closed as its still clamped. Can I move tailstock manually and hit e-stop while moving maybe to leave it unclamped? Thanks.
Mark

multiplex 620. auto discharge of part
Hi there,
I have a Multiplex 620 with Mazatrol 32-6.
I need some help with the end part of a program. I want that the part in the head 2 can be discharge into a bucket that is mounted in tool position 12. In the program I get to the point that I can position the bucket in front of the part, but I can not get that the collet check opens and the air blow the part into the bucket, then the collet chuck shall close and the part shall be discharged to the conveyor that in this machine is located on the rear part of machine.
I used M6 to open the chuck, M516 to start the air blowing, and M7 for closing the chuck and 517 to cancel the air blow, but the program reach the positioning step of the bucket and the collet chuck never opens.
If someone can send me a sample of this part of the program, I will appreciate it.
Thanks,
