Hi. We are new to this forum but would like input as to the final assembly on the spindle shaft and bearings.
Bearing preload is set to .002 per spec but can not figure how tight the nut should be tightened.
If anyone can give us the procedure?
In the assembled image it is the black nut with the locking tab rings betwen it and the case.
The disassebled shaft image shows the "can" that covers the bearing pack. We placed a shim in the case to increase preload on this set of replacement bearings to get .002 preload. Figured that was more reversible if needed than grinding the case to decrease case depth.
Thanks,![Click image for larger version.
